General Dynamics’ fully owned subsidiary Gulfstream Aerospace has secured two contracts from the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).
Valued at $696m, the contracts will see Gulfstream provide engineering services support and contractor logistics for C-20 and C-37 aircraft.
The two agreements involve engineering service contract (ESC) and contractor logistics support (CLS) contracts.
According to General Dynamics, the ESC represents a value of $612m and is a ten-year renewal of a prior ESC.
The CLS is an $84m contract and exercises ‘Option Year Four’ of an existing CLS contract, bringing its cumulative value to $594m.
Under the ESC contract, Gulfstream provides dedicated resources to support C-20G, C-37A and C-37B jets for the Air Force, Army and Navy of the US.
Gulfstream’s government programme and special missions office provide services such as aircraft modifications, configuration management, data delivery, publication management and other engineering services.
Gulfstream government programmes and sales senior vice-president Leda Chong said: “What started as an engineering services contract for nine C-20 US Air Force aircraft 20 years ago has evolved into a support contract for a 23-aircraft fleet.
“Our dedicated engineers and technical support experts look forward to supporting and ensuring the success of the US military’s special missions.”
Gulfstream will execute the contract work at its facilities in Georgia, Maryland, Washington, Hawaii in the US, as well as Germany.
Gulfstream customer support president Derek Zimmerman said: “Gulfstream Customer Support has been proud to provide services for the US Government for many years.
“The engineering services contract is a prime example of Gulfstream’s ability to collaborate across functions to provide the strongest support in the industry, and we are excited to partner closely with the US Government for another decade.”
