What do the world’s leading prestige beauty omni-retailer, an innovative electric car brand, and the global leader in bowling entertainment have in common?
They are the latest tenants slated to open at Miami Worldcenter, the $4 billion, 27-acre mixed-use development transforming the heart of Downtown Miami.
Sephora, a leader in prestige omni-retail with the purpose of creating an inviting beauty community; Lucid Motors, which seeks to set new standards in sustainable transportation with its advanced luxury electric vehicles, and Bowlero, a full-entertainment concept that reinvented the bowling experience with elevated retro-inspired interior design, interactive arcades, and inventive dining, are taking a combined 60,000 square feet of space along the open-air shopping and entertainment promenades, and will join a growing roster of brands that recently announced openings at Miami Worldcenter beginning in 2022.
Miami Worldcenter’s newest restaurant tenants, announced earlier this year, include Chicago’s Maple & Ash and etta, and Miami Chef Michael Beltran’s Brasserie Laurel and El Vecino. These four concepts, along with the latest tenants, total approximately 90,000 square feet of leased retail space in Downtown Miami’s “city-within-a-city.”
“On the heels of announcing an award-winning lineup of restaurant concepts slated to open at Miami Worldcenter, we are upping the ante with a trio of nationally and globally recognized lifestyle brands,” said Nitin Motwani, managing partner of Miami Worldcenter Associates. “These tenants exemplify the diversity we are offering throughout our residential, hospitality and office developments across Miami Worldcenter. Bringing to life the retail components of Miami Worldcenter’s master plan is critical to transforming our 27-acre site into a thriving open-air destination.”
Prestige omni-retailer Sephora will occupy more than 6,000 square feet of retail space at Miami Worldcenter. Delivering on its promise to offer ease and convenience, and meeting clients where they are, Sephora strategically selected Miami Worldcenter as a critical nexus for reaching Downtown Miami’s ever-growing number of residents, tourists and daytime population. Sephora will be located at the World Square plaza along Miami Worldcenter’s Seventh Street Promenade.
Lucid Motors, a growing luxury electric vehicle company that applies innovative engineering, design, and technology to define a new class of vehicle, is developing a multi-use facility for Miami Worldcenter, taking nearly 23,000 square feet of space. In addition to a Lucid Studio, which allows customers to experience the brand and its lineup of luxury electric vehicles in an environment that underscores the company’s signature design aesthetic, this location will serve as a service facility as well as a delivery center for the Lucid Air luxury electric sedan as well as future models. The facility will be located at Miami Worldcenter along First Avenue and 10th Street.
Bowlero is set to make its Downtown Miami debut, bringing the best in bowling, epic eats, live entertainment/nightlife, and exceptional events to Miami Worldcenter. The retro-inspired brand will occupy more than 31,000 square feet within Miami Worldcenter’s glass-encased “Jewel Box” retail building overlooking World Square plaza. The new venue will add to Bowlero’s already considerable presence in Florida, with 25 centers throughout the state including locations in Sweetwater and Dania Beach.
Bowlero at Miami Worldcenter will be a one-stop entertainment destination complete with 28 signature blacklight bowling lanes, plush lounge style seating, and hi-definition video screens that bring the game to an entirely new level. The new Bowlero also will feature a giant arcade with 75 state-of-the-art games, a sports bar, and the brand’s impressive menu that includes upscale food and beverage offerings.
Retail leasing at Miami Worldcenter is led by CIM Group, partner in Miami Worldcenter, and Miami-based The Comras Company. CIM Group is a community-focused real estate and infrastructure owner, operator, lender, and developer. The Comras Company is a leading, boutique real estate firm providing retail leasing, asset sales, consulting and development advisory services throughout South Florida.
“CIM believes the retail component is pivotal to creating a captivating experience at Miami Worldcenter,” said Shaul Kuba, co-founder and principal, CIM Group. “To engage residents and visitors Miami Worldcenter is modeled on the proposition that people want human connections and will seek out retail and entertainment destinations that are attractive, walkable and populated with a carefully selected mix of retail and restaurants.”
Spanning 10 city blocks, Miami Worldcenter will feature a diverse mix of residential, commercial and hospitality uses complemented by approximately 300,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space. These include two completed residential buildings — the 60-story Paramount Miami Worldcenter condominium and the 43-story Caoba luxury apartment tower.
Approximately 150,000 square feet of retail has been completed for tenant build-outs, and another 130,000 square feet is currently under construction and nearing delivery.
Construction is nearing completion at ZOM’s 43-story Bezel Miami Worldcenter residential tower and at the 351-room citizenM hotel, both of which are expected to open later this year.
Complementing Miami Worldcenter’s open-air retail will be World Square, a 20,000-square-foot public plaza and park. Designed as a central gathering place and outdoor event space, World Square will serve as the heartbeat of the city-within-a-city featuring an abundance of shade trees, works of art by local and international artists, and oversized, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks lined with dining, entertainment, and retail concepts.
Miami Worldcenter is within walking distance of Museum Park, home to Pérez Art Museum Miami and the Frost Museum of Science; FTX Arena; the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, and Miami Dade College’s Downtown Miami campus. It also is adjacent to Brightline’s MiamiCentral station, which soon will offer direct train service to Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando, together with access to TriRail, the Metromover and the Metrorail — making Miami Worldcenter the largest and most connected transit-oriented development in Florida.
