ALBANY, N.Y. — The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and CDPHP recently announced the Capital Region’s premier bike-share program recently posted a record-breaking 50K rides taken in 2021, with two months still left in the riding season.
“I’m immensely proud of CDPHP Cycle! for reaching this significant milestone and remain grateful to all of our members and to our partners at CDTA, who have done an outstanding job running this program,” President and CEO of CDPHP, Dr. John D. Bennett remarked.
“We look forward to continuing to support this fun, healthy, and sustainable form of transportation,” Bennett added.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate 50K rides on CDPHP Cycle! bikes this season. It reinforces the need and want for more mobility options in the Capital Region.” CDTA CEO Carm Basile commented.
“We’d like to thank all of our riders partners and the community for your continued support in making CDPHP Cycle! a huge success!” Basile exclaimed.
In addition, CDPHP Cycle! is celebrating 1,000 rides taken in its newest service area, Warren County. CDPHP Cycle! expanded into parts of Lake George, Queensbury, and Glens Falls in May, using the Warren County Bikeway as a connector. Four CDPHP Cycle! branded stations, known as hubs, and 20 bikes are conveniently located for rental.
The popularity of the program has fueled expansion in Warren County. Students at SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury can now rent CDPHP Cycle! bikes on campus through the end of November. The expansion at SUNY Adirondack helps promote the college’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, as well as providing a healthy mobility option to the campus community.
“As an avid bicyclist myself, I’m thrilled that CDPHP Cycle! is available to SUNY Adirondack students,” Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., President of SUNY Adirondack said.
“The program offers students a practical, environmentally friendly mode of transportation and, as important, a great way to stay fit, relieve stress, and enjoy the beauty of this region,” Duffy added.
there is still plenty of time to ride with CDPHP Cycle! before the season ends on Nov. 30. For more information, including additional rental fees, rack locations, and more, visit www.cdphpcycle.com.
