JACKSONVILLE, Fla — This Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Malone AirCharter Hangar on 14000 Pecan Park Rd., Jacksonville resident Ricardo Andreu, long-time cyclist and supporter of the annual Great Cycle Challenge will host a fundraiser in support of two Jacksonville children.

This fundraiser is to support 5 year old Lily, who is undergoing treatment for B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and 4 year old Jacksonville resident Bryce, who is undergoing treatment for rare type of brain tumor called, ‘central nervous system embryonal tumor.

Andreu and several members of his cycling team called #JoeStrong, will provide a short demonstration ride on his 1873 antique bicycle replica around the Malone AirCharter parking lot and provide cupcakes for all attendees.

Founded in 2015, The Great Cycle Challenge is the annual fundraiser to support Children’s Cancer Research Fund, which seeks to find a cure for childhood cancer.

After just 7 years, the event has grown to become one of the biggest cycling events in the United States. People of all ages, abilities and from every state across the country set themselves a personal riding goal and challenge themselves to pedal to fight kids’ cancer.

This year the challenge will take place throughout the month of September. In 7 years, our community of riders from all 50 states has ridden a total of 25,647,476 miles, and together we’ve raised $52,524,379 in support of research to develop better treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
