VIRGINIA, MN--- Monday night was a celebration on the Iron Range as the Iron Trail Motors Event Center officially opened to the public.
The $38-million facility will be used for concerts, tradeshows and other events.
It also houses two state-of-the-art hockey arenas.
At 120-thousand square feet, the facility will bring big business to the range.

"This building has the possibility of having a huge economic impact for the entire Iron Range," said Brian Silber, Parks and Rec Director for the City of Virginia.
A huge impact that was only made possible by community tax dollars after the city of Virginia approved a sales tax referendum back in 2018.
Additional funding for the project came from the IRRRB and Minnesota state bonding dollars.
"It is a long time coming. We finally brought this to fruition, and really, it's the community that built this," said Virginia Mayor Larry Cuffe.
But just as a community evolves, so will the space that will be used for generations to come.
"We're not done yet. So when you come into this facility today, and you come back next month, you're going to notice things have changed. This facility has the ability to grow with our community," said Silber.
City leaders and organizers agree Monday's ribbon-cutting was just a small look for what is to come in Virginia.
"There were hundreds of people here, and that shows the investment that they have made. So thanks to the community for what they have done. This is a house the community built," said Mayor Cuffe.
Events at the new center will be taking place all week.
