North Philly’s owner, founder, designer, Stephen Bilenky Bilenky Cycle WorksHas spent decades honing their bicycle manufacturing skills. Currently, he and his small team are making high-end custom bikes in one project at a time. (Billenky recently executed a US-UK friendship bicycle given by President Biden to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.)

A modern twist on a model that was born in California and became popular in the 1980s. “This is a mountain bike that someone uses for serious racing, off-road adventures and technical riding, but it’s done in a glamorous and engaging way,” says Bilenky.
Mechanics
The bike’s back cassette has 12 gears, the front has one gear, and cyclists can shift with one hand. The orange FOX suspension fork absorbs shock and provides additional boost when caring for tree roots and rocky trails. The hydraulic disc brakes provide an instant stopping force with a small amount of manual pressure.

Bilenky mountain bikes are made for two types of tires: skinny tires for racing and fat tires for technical trail riding. The curvature of the tube at the rear of the bike provides more space between the chainstays and seatstays, leaving enough width for the tires to grow.
Handlebar
Organic and sustainable laminated bamboo handlebars are sourced from New Zealand to make your ride more comfortable. Lever attached to them adjusts the height of the saddle via the dropper seatpost, making it easier for the rider to navigate complex terrain.

Bilenky is known for its fillet brazing of bicycles, a metal melting structure process in which bicycle tubes are seamlessly connected. Some structural tubes have the same sculptural and purposeful parts. The curved top tube has a high front, a low center, and rises again where the seat is attached, allowing the rider to get off quickly in any situation.
